Activity 1: Translating Phases
Nau Mai ki Aotearoa- Welcome to New Zealand
Paris is my name- Ko Paris Toku ingoa
What is your name?- Ko wai to ingoa
He pai taku ki te takaro I te whutupaoro.-I like to play rugby
Where do you come from?- No hea koe?
Activity 2: The Treaty of Waitangi
Three fun facts:
The treaty was signed by both Maori chefs and British crown.
Today the Treaty Grounds are an opportunity to learn about Maori culture and the historical events associated with the signing of the treaty.
Not only is Waitangi engaging from an educational point of view, it's also a very beautiful place to explore.
The one activity I would like to do is Waitangi Mountian Bike Park
Bonus Activity: #Earnthefern
Would you love to go back to commonwealth games and compete again?
What team would you like to play in rugby?
How long have you been playing rugby for?
How long have you been in the commonwealth games for?

Kia Ora Paris,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Hazel and I will be one of the people blogging with you over the summer. You have made a great start to the Summer Learning Journey!
Great work with the translations. Had you head many of those phrases before?
Wow, I didn't know that there was a mountain biking park at Waitangi. Have you been there before? I've been up there twice and the views were beautiful. They also had a lot of interesting historical information about the Treaty.
You have written some great interview questions; when interviewing someone, it's usually a good idea to ask open-ended questions because they encourage people to give you more information.
If I were interviewing him, I would like to know which of the two sports (rugby and boxing) he preferred. Which one do you think you would rather do? Why?
Keep up the great work,
Hazel :)
