Summer Learning Journey 2018-2019 Week 2 Day 5

Activity 1:

It think it is a great rule, it is horrible that people are over fishing. We need to stop people from over fishing, by closing the private fishing area's we should do more about it. I don't have any idea's on thing we should do more.

Activity 2:

The Grey river- West Coast- No money to do anything about it

Activity 3:

Raffle draw- We could try and say to all the people that enter that they win a prize swimming with the animal in the ocean.
A bake sale- With a sign saying all the money goes to the coral
Car wash- $5 clean,$5 polish, all the money goes to the coral

    You're right, it is horrible when an area gets overfished. It can effect the whole ecosystem. Good idea to close off some areas for fishing - do you know of any places in NZ where this has been done already?

    Great ideas for fundraising for the Great Barrier Reef. It would be a disaster if the reef was destroyed and lost forever.

    It's great that you've looked into two New Zealand rivers. It's a shame nothing is being done to combat pollution in and around them though. Can you think of anything the local communities could do to help solve their pollution problem?
