Hi Paris,
ReplyDeleteIt is so great to see you getting started on the Summer Learning Journey activities! I hope you are enjoying them. Did you participate in the Summer Learning Journey last year? I can see your top blogger badge!
It was interesting to read what you wrote about Christchurch. I lived in Christchurch for a little while, before the big earthquakes. It really is quite damaged isn't it? It is taking a long time to rebuild the city. However, as you say, you have some very beautiful parts of Christchurch. It is known as the 'Garden City' so it must have many lovely gardens and parks. Which one is your favourite? I love Hagley Park in spring time.
I'm looking forward to reading more of your blog posts this summer!
From Laura
I did do the summer learning journey last year i was 3rd place. Not anymore but they still have to fix some things up but i guess it is a work in process. I like the botanic gardens.
DeleteKia ora Paris,
ReplyDeleteYou've shared some really interesting facts. I like that you've accompanied them with an image as well. My understanding is that New Zealand is also known as Aotearoa because when Kupe first arrived here there was peculiar long white cloud hanging over the land, so he later named the country after the cloud that greeted him.
One of my favourite facts about New Zealand is that we have the steepest street in the world! Do you know what it's called? I'll give you a hint. It's in Dunedin.
I'm glad to see that you know how to be cyber smart Paris. It's so important that we keep these things in mind when we're online. It's also really important to remember not to share any personal information like our address and passwords.
Talk soon,
Mikey :)
I don't know what it is called i wish i did.
DeleteHi Paris!
DeleteThe steepest street in New Zealand (and the world) is called Baldwin Street. If you're ever in Dunedin, you should take a trip up it :)
All the best,
Mikey
