  1. Hey Paris,

This is Jade C from the Summer Learning Journey team. How was your day today? It was cold, windy, and raining today in Auckland. I hope Christchurch is sunny nice nice so you can go out and have some fun! You are working really hard, you have been actively going through the activities, well done.

Today's set of activities are all based on the topic of 'Sports'. What would be your favourite sport? Mine is soccer! I can't play it, but I love watching the games! I cannot wait for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2018. Richie McCaw is a very talented player and he sure is one of the most known rugby legend in New Zealand! Have you went to the game to watch him play rugby on the field? Few years ago, my friends went to watch one of his games and they told me all about his amazing rugby skills!

Yes, Salsa was originated from Cuba! Well done for your time and effort that you've put into this research! Did you know that there are many type of salsa? The different types of salsa dances are- Linear Style, L.A. Style, New York / Mambo Style, Puerto Rican style , Miami Style, Cuban Style, Casino Style, Rueda, Colombian Salsa, and Stylin'. They are all similar because they dance and move around to Latin music but the speed and body movements are different in their own ways :) Have you ever watched salsa dance before?

It was great to read all three activities today! I hope you enjoyed doing these activities! Have a lovely night :)

    All the best,
    Jade C.

  3. Hi there Paris,

Jade F here from the Summer Learning Journey team! Great job on completing another set of activities.

Activity 1- Good job on listing three interesting facts that you've learnt about Richie McCaw. I thought your list of facts were very interesting, especially the fact about how he was only 23 years old when he was named captain of the All Blacks team!

Activity 2- That's awesome that Richie McCaw is also your sporting hero! What are some of your favourite attributes about Richie McCaw as a rugby player? I thought it was so cool that he can fly helicopters. Did you know that he is also an honorary squadron leader for the New Zealand Airforce? Who would of thought an All Black would be part of the Airforce?!

Bonus Activity- Great variety of facts on the salsa! Have you tried doing the salsa before? I've tried it for fun before with my friends and it's such an easy dance to learn and do!

Looking forward to reading more of your blog posts Paris. Keep up the good work!

    Cheers,
    Jade F :)
